Press Release: LCO presents “Passions” at Frederick Douglass High School

LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 30, 2024) — The Lexington Community Orchestra (LCO) presents an afternoon of classical music at 3:00pm on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Frederick Douglass High School. 
The program, entitled “Passions,” includes music from the late-Romantic period of classical music: Jean Sibelius’s Karelia Overture, Maurice Ravel’s Pavane for a Dead Princess and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 (also called “Pathetique” or “The Passionate Symphony.”) The woodwind and brass musicians will be featured in a performance of Paul Dukas’s Fanfare pour La Peri.
This is the first time the group will be performing at Frederick Douglass High School auditorium.
