LEXINGTON, KY, March 10, 2025 – The Lexington Community Orchestra (LCO) is thrilled to announce two dynamic performances celebrating the diverse beauty and power of orchestral music. These concerts showcase a mix of classical and contemporary works performed by the volunteer musicians of the LCO at two local venues.
Musical Hues at the Library Sunday, April 13, 2025 | 2:30 PM | Lexington Public Library Central Library LCO partners with the Lexington Public Library’s Classical Music Sundays series for an intimate afternoon of chamber music at the Lexington Public Library, Central Library. Works on this program explore the vibrant musical colors and textures of different instruments of the orchestra:
Pastorale Sunday, May 4, 2025 | 3:00 PM | Bryan Station High School Auditorium The full orchestra takes the stage on the unofficial Star Wars holiday, “May the Fourth,” with a program blending cinematic and classical pastoral imagery:
“We are excited to present these selections, which blend timeless classical masterpieces with iconic cinematic music,” said the LCO’s Music Director, Tim Wiggins. “These concerts will transport audiences through diverse landscapes of sound, from the intimate charm of chamber music to the grandeur of full orchestral works.” "Classical Music Sundays is music on Main Street both literally and figuratively,” said Doug Tattershall of the Lexington Public Library. “It's great classical music for everybody, and the price is right: free!" Both concerts are free and open to the public, with donations gratefully accepted to support the orchestra’s mission of bringing quality classical music to the Lexington community.
