LEXINGTON, KY (Jan. 30, 2024) — The Lexington Community Orchestra (LCO) presents an afternoon of classical music at 3:00pm on Sunday, Feb. 18 at Frederick Douglass High School.
The program, entitled “Passions,” includes music from the late-Romantic period of classical music: Jean Sibelius’s Karelia Overture, Maurice Ravel’s Pavane for a Dead Princess and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 (also called “Pathetique” or “The Passionate Symphony.”) The woodwind and brass musicians will be featured in a performance of Paul Dukas’s Fanfare pour La Peri. This is the first time the group will be performing at Frederick Douglass High School auditorium. All LCO concerts are free and open to the public.
